Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) officially welcomed 7,961 new students for the 2025/2026 Academic Year through the Student Orientation Program (PKKMB), inaugurated by USU Rector, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., at the USU Mini Stadium on Tuesday, August 13, 2025.
Carrying the theme “Unlock Your Potential, Create Real Change,” the Rector encouraged new students to explore their potential, pursue academic excellence, and make meaningful contributions to society. He also expressed appreciation for the achievements of USU students, including the Horas Team (KMHE Champion), the SDGs Team (International AIYC Winner), and this year’s highest UTBK scorer.
A similar message was conveyed by the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Dr. Brian Yuliarto, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D., and the Secretary of the Board of Trustees (MWA) of USU, Prof. Dr. Tamrin, M.Sc., who both emphasized the importance of adaptability, creativity, integrity, and the role of students as agents of change.
The 2025 PKKMB at USU will take place over three days, featuring sessions on leadership development, academic ethics, digital literacy, and national insight—aimed at nurturing graduates who are strong in character, globally competitive, and capable of creating tangible social impact.
