The Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), Muryanto Amin, stressed the importance of higher education graduates being able to connect theory with real-world practice. This message was delivered during the graduation ceremony attended by 1,843 graduates at the Auditorium USU on Friday (14 February 2025).

The Rector stated that the challenges of today’s professional world demand more than academic proficiency alone. They also require critical thinking skills, adaptability, decision-making ability, as well as the courage to act and take responsibility. Graduates are expected to transform theoretical knowledge into concrete actions that offer solutions to real problems within society.

On the same occasion, the Rector of USU also highlighted the university’s achievements in internationalization and educational quality enhancement. USU continues to expand internationally accredited study programs, open international classes, and strengthen student and faculty mobility programs, in line with its commitment to creating inclusive and globally competitive higher education.
