Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) officially commenced the 2025 Computer-Based Written Exam for the National Selection Based on Test (UTBK-SNBT) on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. The exam began at 6:45 AM WIB and will continue until May 4, 2025, divided into two daily sessions.
This year, the number of participants increased to 38,133, compared to 37,169 participants in 2024. Participants are spread across three locations: USU Medan (36,491 participants), USU Gunungsitoli (761 participants), and USU South Nias (881 participants), according to the Secretary of the USU 2025 UTBK-SNBT Committee, Ir. Ikhsan Siregar, ST, M.Eng; this increase reflects the growing interest and trust of the public in USU as a preferred institution for higher education.
This year's UTBK also includes eight participants with disabilities who are scheduled to take the test on the second day of the implementation. The examination process is supported by 1,922 computer units distributed across various testing locations at USU and its partner institutions, including SMAN 1 Medan, Universitas Sari Mutiara, SMAN 1 Gunungsitoli, and SMKN 1 Nias.
