Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held the Second Period Graduation Ceremony for the 2024/2025 Academic Year on February 7–8, 2025, at the USU Auditorium. At this event, 1,500 graduates from various faculties and education levels officially completed their studies.
This period's graduation carried the theme "Education Teaches Us How to Think and Learn to Provide Solutions." USU Rector, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., stated in his speech that this achievement marks the beginning of a new journey in life. He emphasized that success is not only determined by academic accomplishments but also by character and the ability to face increasingly competitive work environments.
"As USU alumni, you have the responsibility to carry forward the spirit and values instilled during your time here," said Prof. Muryanto. Furthermore, the Rector reminded the graduates that character and the ability to manage challenges are the keys to success.
"Don't be afraid to fail. From failure, you will learn to rise and become stronger," he added.
One of the graduates, Dastin Naufal, an Accounting graduate from the Faculty of Economics and Business, shared his experience of overcoming challenges during his studies, especially managing time while living far from campus. He encouraged current students to stay motivated in pursuing their academic goals.
With the spirit and achievements of its graduates, USU hopes they will become future leaders who are innovative and ready to face global challenges.
