The Directorate of Educational Development at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held a send-off ceremony for students participating in the Thematic Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata-Tematik/KKN-T) under the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) initiative for the Even Semester of the 2024/2025 Academic Year. The program prepares students for community service, specifically in the Karo Regency.
The event took place on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 1:00 PM in the Auditorium of the Faculty of Nursing, USU. The ceremony was attended by Vice Rector I, Prof. Dr. Edy Ikhsan, S.H., M.A., Director of Educational Development Ir. Ikhsan Siregar, ST., M.Eng., the KKN-T Program Coordinator and team, and participating students.
This send-off serves as both recognition and encouragement for the students embarking on fieldwork. The KKN-T program is integral to the MBKM policy and is designed to equip students with real-life experiences, character development, and enhanced social, leadership, and professional skills.
USU reaffirms its commitment to experiential learning and strengthening university–community synergy through this initiative. Students are expected to serve as agents of change, positively impacting their assigned communities.
