Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) conferred degrees upon 1,898 graduates during its Graduation Ceremony for 3rd Period of the 2024/2025 Academic Year. The ceremony occurred over two days, Friday–Saturday (May 9–10, 2025), at the USU Auditorium and was broadcast live via the university's official YouTube channel. The graduates came from all levels of education—doctoral, Master's, Bachelor's, and Diploma—across all faculties at USU.
In his address themed "Adapting to the AI Revolution: Becoming Winners in the Digital Workforce," USU Rector Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., delivered a strong message encouraging graduates to embrace the new realities of a rapidly digitized job market.
"AI is a tool that helps humans find solutions to existing problems. It is an instrument that can be used by anyone seeking to discover, experience, and pursue what matters to them for their future needs," the Rector stated.
He emphasized that to survive and excel in the age of Artificial Intelligence (AI), graduates must strengthen uniquely human attributes: curiosity, empathy, life experience, and perseverance. The graduation ceremony is not merely an academic celebration but a reflective moment to prepare a resilient, relevant, and globally competitive young generation in the face of the digital revolution.
