The Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara, Muryanto Amin, officially inaugurated the Vice Rectors and the University Secretary on Monday (2/3/2026) at the Digital Learning Center Building. The inauguration forms part of the continuation of the Rector’s second leadership term.
The appointed officials include Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Z. Hasibuan, S.Si., M.Si., Apt. as Vice Rector I for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Alumni Relations; Dr. Arifin Nasution, S.Sos., M.S.P. as Vice Rector II for Human Resources, Finance, and Information Systems; Prof. Dr. Eng. Himsar Ambarita, S.T., M.T. as Vice Rector III for Research, Innovation, and Cooperation; and Dr. Muhammad Anggia Muchtar, S.T., MM.IT. as Vice Rector IV for Planning, Infrastructure, and Business. Also inaugurated was Ir. Ikhsan Siregar, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D. as University Secretary.
In his remarks, the Rector emphasized the importance of collective commitment in carrying out the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, producing graduates aligned with industry and societal needs, and strengthening academic contributions toward the advancement of civilization. University leaders are also expected to uphold integrity, ethics, and professionalism in every aspect of their duties.
The Rector further highlighted the need for adaptive and collaborative governance to accelerate institutional performance improvement, including the advancement of ranking achievements toward Cluster I. All appointed officials are expected to work collectively, respond proactively to change, and remain oriented toward innovation and tangible contributions to the university’s progress.
This inauguration marks a shared commitment to strengthening governance and enhancing USU’s competitiveness at both national and international levels.
