Universitas Sumatera Utara Concludes MBKM Thematic Community Service Program in Karo Regency

The withdrawal of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) students participating in the Merdeka Belajar–Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Thematic Community Service Program (KKN-T) in Karo Regency marked an important moment of appreciation for students’ contributions and the strong collaboration with the local government.

Universitas Sumatera Utara officially conducted the withdrawal of KKN-T MBKM students for the Odd Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Year in Karo Regency on Thursday, 18 December 2025. This activity signified the completion of the KKN-T program implemented by USU students in the region.

 

The event was attended by the Director of the Directorate of Educational Development of USU, Ir. Ikhsan Siregar, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D.; the Manager of Educational Assessment and Development of USU, Mahatir Muhammad, S.Farm., M.Si., Apt.; the Head of the USU KKN-T Team, Dr. Zulfan, S.S., M.Hum.; members of the KKN-T team; Field Supervising Lecturers; representatives of the Karo Regency Government; and participating students.

 

On this occasion, the Head of the USU KKN-T Team, Dr. Zulfan, S.S., M.Hum., delivered guidance and an evaluation to the students. He expressed appreciation for their dedication, hard work, and tangible contributions throughout the implementation of community service activities in Karo Regency. He also emphasized that the experience gained during KKN-T would serve as valuable capital for strengthening students’ academic, social, and professional competencies.

 

As part of the event, the Director of the Directorate of Educational Development of USU, Ir. Ikhsan Siregar, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D., received a plaque of appreciation from the Deputy Regent of Karo, symbolizing recognition of USU’s contributions and collaboration in supporting community development and empowerment through the MBKM KKN-T Program.

 

With the conclusion of the KKN-T activities, all participating students returned to Universitas Sumatera Utara on 18 December 2025. On behalf of the university, the Director of the Directorate of Educational Development of USU expressed gratitude to the Government of Karo Regency and all parties involved for their support and cooperation in ensuring the successful implementation of the MBKM KKN-T Program for the Odd Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Year.
