Strategic Preparation for USU Students Heading to the Field

The Directorate of Educational Development at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), in collaboration with the KKN-T Program Team, held a preparatory briefing for participants of the KKN-T Program for the Even Semester of the 2024/2025 Academic Year on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at the Faculty of Nursing Auditorium. The event's theme was "Learn, Create, Impact."

The briefing aimed to give students a comprehensive understanding of their roles, responsibilities, and strategies for implementing community development and empowerment programs in rural areas. Topics covered included the principles and characteristics of the KKN-T program, implementation phases, benefits for students, partner communities, and the university, and an introduction to ten KKN-T themes aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In his opening remarks, Director of Educational Development Ir. Ikhsan Siregar, ST., M.Eng., expressed hope that students would be able to analyze village potentials and issues, design science- and technology-based solutions rooted in local wisdom, and foster interdisciplinary collaboration with stakeholders in their placement areas.

The 2025 USU KKN-T Program reflects the university's commitment to supporting sustainable village development through active collaboration between academia and society.
