The Directorate of Educational Development of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held a socialization session on the Learning Program Outside the Study Program (PLPS) for undergraduate and vocational students for the Odd Semester of Academic Year 2026/2027. The event was conducted online on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, via Zoom Meeting and the USU Directorate of Educational Development’s YouTube channel.
The event was opened by USU Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Alumni, Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, S.Si., M.Si., Apt. In her remarks, she emphasized the importance of implementing PLPS as part of efforts to provide students with broader learning experiences through activities outside their respective study programs.
The Director of USU’s Directorate of Educational Development, Prof. Dr. Rudi Hartono, S.Hut., M.Si., then provided an explanation of the implementation of PLPS and the mechanisms for the activities available to students during the Odd Semester of Academic Year 2026/2027.
The socialization materials were subsequently presented by Riyanto Sinaga, S.Si., M.Si., Coordinator of the Magang Berdampak Internship Program, and Ismayadi, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes., Coordinator of the Thematic Community Service Program (KKN-T). Both speakers presented information on the programs, their implementation mechanisms, and the preparations students need to make in order to participate in PLPS activities.
Through this socialization session, students are expected to gain a clearer understanding of the implementation of PLPS and prepare themselves to participate in various forms of learning outside their study programs during the Odd Semester of Academic Year 2026/2027.
