Universitas Sumatera Utara held an Open Session in the context of its 72nd Anniversary with the theme “Strengthening the Higher Education Ecosystem to Achieve a Golden Indonesia”. The event was attended by several important figures, including Dr. Drs. H. Agus Fatoni, M.Si., as Acting Governor of North Sumatra, and Ferry Irwandi, a content creator and CEO of Malaka Project. In addition, regional leaders, consulate generals, the Board of Trustees, the Academic Senate, professors, lecturers, and students of Universitas Sumatera Utara were also present. The session occurred at the Universitas Sumatera Utara Auditorium on Tuesday (15/10/2024).
In his speech, the Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., emphasized the importance of collaboration between various elements in higher education. “The young generation is currently being built and shaped through the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, which will prepare them as future leaders of the nation towards a Golden Indonesia,” he said.
Acting Governor of North Sumatra, Dr. Drs. H. Agus Fatoni, M.Si., expressed his appreciation for the work of the Universitas Sumatera Utara in producing quality graduates who can compete at the national and international levels. He also congratulated the 72nd Anniversary.
Ferry Irwandi, in his scientific oration, highlighted the importance of the quality of human resources, which is born from good education. “An educational climate that prioritizes quantity but quality is the main key in producing superior human resources,” he said.
The event ended with the Rector of the Universitas Sumatera Utara handing over souvenirs to Ferry Irwandi, followed by a lively entertainment performance by the Suarasama Band.
