The Introduction of New Student Campus Life (PKKMB) was held at the Mini Stadium of the Universitas Sumatera Utara. On Tuesday (13/08/2024), 7,350 new students attended. PKKMB was held for three days until Thursday (15/08/2024).
This year's PKKMB is entitled "Embracing The Future, Advancing Together". Students are required to face the future with an open attitude towards innovation, change, and progress. USU Rector Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos, M.Si., opened the PKKMB event by congratulating students who had graduated and giving appreciation to students who received the highest scores through all selection pathways. The Rector was also proud to welcome students from Jayapura.
The USU rector hopes that students will know in advance what they want after entering college and what the lecture process will be like. Rahma Yurliani, S.Psi, M.Psi, Director of USU's Directorate of Student Achievement and Alumni Relations, expects students to be proactive and improve their abilities.
This year's PKKMB USU was even more lively with the presentation of North Sumatra regional dances performed by Lentera Nataraja USU Dance UKM, as well as angklung performances by Psychestra Harmony from the Angklung Choir of the USU Faculty of Psychology. USU also implemented the Green Campus program at PKKMB 2024 this year, which included providing environmentally friendly goodie bags, action plans, and zero trash. Green Campus activities that socialize new students, the importance of maintaining and caring for environmental cleanliness, especially in the campus area.
