Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held a send-off ceremony for students participating in the Kampus Berdampak Thematic Community Service Program (KKN-T) in the Odd Semester of Academic Year 2026/2027 on Monday (September 21, 2026). The event took place in the USU Rectorate courtyard.

The send-off ceremony marked the beginning of the KKN-T Program for USU students who will carry out community service activities in various communities. Through this program, students are expected to apply the knowledge they have acquired during their studies while making meaningful contributions to the community and surrounding environment.

At the event, USU Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Alumni Affairs, Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Z. Hasibuan, S.Si., M.Si., Apt., delivered remarks. In her speech, she emphasized the importance of students carrying out the KKN-T program responsibly and being able to adapt and collaborate with communities at their respective placement locations.

The implementation of KKN-T is also part of USU’s efforts to provide students with learning experiences beyond the campus environment. Students are expected to develop their teamwork and communication skills while contributing solutions to various needs within the community. Through the implementation of the KKN-T Program in the Odd Semester of Academic Year 2026/2027, USU continues to encourage students to learn, create, and make a positive impact on society.
