Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) successfully held its Graduation Ceremony for the 2024/2025 Academic Year First Period on Thursday and Friday (November 28–29, 2024) at the USU Auditorium. Themed "Understanding Digital Culture in the Global Industry," this graduation emphasized the importance of adaptability in the face of the digital era's rapid changes. USU Rector, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., reminded the graduates to uphold human values amidst technological advancements.
"Technology is merely a tool. However, integrity and empathy must remain our guiding principles. We are proud to send you off as USU alumni ready to contribute globally," said the Rector. A total of 2,602 graduates officially received their degrees, including 337 graduates with Cum Laude honors. One of the outstanding graduates, Rayyana Dario Silva from the Library and Information Science program, achieved an impressive GPA of 3.96, completing her studies in just 3 years and 9 months.
In his speech, the Rector reaffirmed USU's vision as a World-Class University focused on innovation, collaboration, and global adaptation. USU also offers flagship programs such as PMDSU (Master's Education Leading to Doctorate for Outstanding Undergraduate Students) to support high-achieving graduates.
With a total alumni network reaching 263,279 individuals, USU continues to produce highly competitive generations. The Rector hopes that graduates will face the challenges of the digital world while upholding human values.
